Apple Pay

If you select the "Apple Pay" payment method [from Apple Distribution International, Hollyhill Industrial Estate, Hollyhill, Cork, Ireland (hereinafter "Apple")], payment will be processed via the "Apple Pay" function of the respective end device (system requirements: macOS, iOS or watchOS).

The charge is made to a payment card stored with "Apple Pay". When making a payment, authorisation is required by the respective verification method of your end device.

Apple Pay uses security features built into your device's hardware and software to protect your transactions. According to Apple, Apple Pay is designed to protect your personal data. Apple does not store or have access to the original credit, debit or prepaid card numbers used with Apple Pay. In addition, Apple does not store any transaction data that can be used to identify you when you use Apple Pay with credit, debit or prepaid cards. Your transactions are only visible to you, the merchant or developer and your bank or card issuer.

For the purpose of payment processing, the information provided during the order process and order information is encrypted and forwarded to Apple. This encrypted data is passed on to the payment service that has been stored in Apple Pay after being re-encrypted by Apple.

Once payment has been made, Apple sends your device account number together with the transaction-specific, dynamic security code to the app or website. Neither Apple nor your device will send the actual number of your payment card to the app.

The transfer takes place for the purpose of payment processing in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR. If personal data is processed during the described transfers, the processing is carried out exclusively for the purpose of payment processing in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR.

Apple stores anonymised transaction data, including the approximate purchase amount, the approximate date and time and whether the transaction was successfully completed. Anonymisation completely excludes any personal reference. Apple uses the anonymised data to improve Apple Pay and other Apple products and services.

When you use Apple Pay on your iPhone or Apple Watch to confirm a purchase made via Safari on your Mac, the Mac and the authorisation device communicate via an encrypted channel on Apple's servers. Apple does not retain any of this information in a format that can be used to identify you. You can disable the ability to use Apple Pay on your Mac in your iPhone settings. Select "Wallet & Apple Pay" and deactivate "Allow payments on Mac".
